Is Webity search engine friendly? Yes. The metadata support feature has made FLOX CMS into highly flexible, search engine-friendly product. Because both internal and external search engines rely on metadata (i.e., data that describes data) to help site visitors locate relevant information, it is critical for business users to be able to add and modify metadata.
Web site administrators can:
  • Define site specific metadata
  • Determine what metadata to include in each Web page
  • Control properties (i.e., user editable, required)
What are meta tags?
Meta tags are invisible tags, or code, embedded in your web page which are read by the search engine robots to learn more about the content of your website. The jury is out on how beneficial they are. Meta tags´help to follow the proper protocol in order to help your website get listed. Just login to your website's administration and click on PAGES, select a web page, click Page Properties and fill in the forms. You can add content for the following meta tags.

How long does it take for my website to show up on search engines?
Results vary with different search engines. Expect anywhere from 3 weeks to 3 months and sometime longer to get listed. For a more specific answer, check with each search engine. Search engines are separate entities/companies from Irisoft Ltd.

How do I get my site listed on search engines and directories?
Getting listed on search engines is not automatic when your site is live. There are 3 ways your site can get listed on search engines and directories:
1.You submit your site to each individual search engine and/or directory. To do this, go to each search engine and/or directory and look for a link to submit your site.
2.You hire a company to submit your site to search engines and/or directories
3. Your site is randomly found by a spider and indexed. Many major search engines and/or directories regularly send out a spider to rove the internet and index sites not yet in their listing.

Promoting Your Website
Creating a successful internet presence involves much more than designing a great web site. Listing your web site with the Search Engines is your first step; however, you must not solely rely on the Search Engines to bring you traffic.

There are many auto-submission software programs available on the Internet, but make sure you manually submit your site to the main Search Engines and Directories:
Google http://www.google.com/addurl.html (you can also submit your site map to Google)
The Open Directory Project http://dmoz.org/add.html
AltaVista http://www.altavista.com/addurl
Lycos http://www.lycos.com/addasite.html
Hotbot http://hotbot.lycos.com/addurl.asp

Once you've manually submitted your main pages, visit SelfPromotion.com  to automatically submit your pages to a number of additional Search Engines and Directories.
