Page Lock

A similar way to make the Web Content accessible only for registered users is to lock the page. How to create a password protected page:

1. Create a "New Page" and fill in all fields.
2. Click on "Advanced Properties" and change the preset "Visible" to "Locked by password" in the "Visibility" field.
3. Click "Save". An icon will appear next to this menu item in the menu tree

If the visible page already exists and you want to lock it, click on "Page Properties" at the top, on the right of the page. Change "Visibility" in the displayed menu and save the changes. As a result, an icon will appear in the tree menu on the left

What is the difference between a "Password Protected" page and a "Visible only to logged-in users" page?

  • If the page is "Password protected", it is displayed in the menu. The visitor clicks on it, enters his/her name and password and the content will be unlocked.
  • On the contrary, if the page is viewable only by logged-in users, it is not going to be displayed in the menu. The visitor has to log in first, enter his/her name and the password (www.anypage.com/admin). Like this all hidden items will be displayed.
